KAMAKURA, Japan (Nov. 6, 2014) — The Kirara Gallery Kamakura presents Mateo Hevezi’s “AGNOSCO-Spirits Among Us,” photography exhibition opening Dec. 9-15, 2014.

The AGNOSCO exhibition is a collection of 38 color and 17 monochrome photographs which were produced over ten years in seven countries: Japan, Australia, Thailand, Mexico, USA, Vietnam and Micronesia. Mateo previously lived and worked several years in Nakagusuku, Japan, on the island of Okinawa. The AGNOSCO exhibit in Kamakura will be the first time Mateo’s work will be presented in Kanagawa Prefecture. Mateo, 48, was born in America and grew up in the San Francisco Bay Area. He currently is based in Kanagawa, but frequently travels throughout East Asia.

Kirara Gallery is located inside the Kamakura Lifelong Learning Center (B1), and is just a short 3-minute walk from the Kamakura JR train station. The Lifelong Learning Center is situated between the main Kamakura Post Office and the Daikoji Temple.

AGNOSCO premiered in Tokyo in May 2014.

The AGNOSCO exhibition is a free event. Kirara Gallery is open daily from 10AM – 5PM.
